The Keel Boat Courage

Scarborough, Yorkshire.—At 9.20 on the morning of the 10th of February, 1953, the coastguard telephoned that a fishing boat was off Hayburn Wyke in worsening weather. As a whole gale was blowing from the east-north-east, causing a very rough sea, the life-boat E.C.J.R. was launched at 10.50. She found the local keel boat Courage and, with difficulty, the life-boat passed life-belts to her crew of five. The life-boat then escorted her to Scar- borough harbour and reached her station again at 12.45.—Rewards, £12 14*..
