—At 11.38 on the morning of the llth of November, 1952, the coastguard telephoned that a landing craft had reported a fishing vessel in need of help four miles to the southward, and at 11.45 the life-boat J. and W. was launched. The sea was moderate with a moderate north-westerly breeze.

The life-boat found the motor fishing vessel Misty Isle, of Burnmouth, which had broken down, in tow of another Burnmouth fishing vessel, the Braw Lads. She escorted them both to Burnmouth and then returned to her station, arriving at 4.50.—Rewards, £15 8s. 6d..
