The Seven Stones Lightvessel

Penlee, Cornwall.—At 12.30 on the afternoon of the 25th of October, 1952, the Pen:sance Superintendent of Trinity House telephoned that the wife of the master of the Seven Stones lightvessel was seriously ill and asked if the life-boat would land him. As no other boat was available, the life-boat W. and S. was launched at 1.10, in a rough sea, with a strong westerly breeze blowing. She took the master to Newlyn, arriving at eight o'clock.

As the weather was too bad for her to be rehoused, she remained there for the night and was taken back to her station the next day.—Rewards, £22 9s..
