Amble, Northumberland.—When the local fishing fleet was returning from sea on the morning of the 18th of Sep- tember, 1952, the boats found it diffi- cult to enter the harbour owing to the heavy swell. At 11.15 in the morning- the life-boat J. W. Archer was launched and stood by at the harbour bar until the fleet had got safely in. The boats were the Ocean Pride, True Vine, Treasure, The Victory, Boy Arthur and Star of Peace. The life-boat was ready for service again at 1.20.—Rewards, £7 125..
