Devotion

Eyemouth, Berwickshire.—At 12.57 on the afternoon of the 22nd of October, 1952, a fisherman at Burnmouth tele- phoned that the motor fishing boat Devotion, of Burnmouth, with a crew of four, was flying a distress signal three miles south-east of Eyemouth.

At 1.12 the life-boat Clara and Emily Barn-ell was launched, with a life- boatman in command, in a very heavy sea, with a strong south-easterly wind blowing, and found that the Devotion had broken down. The life-boat towed her into Eyemouth Harbour and reached her station again at two o'clock. The owner made a donation to the funds of the Institution.— Rewards, £12 3.s. Qd..
