Arbroath, Angus.—At 7.22 on the night of the 17th of February, 1952, the coastguard telephoned that two girls were marooned on a rock east of Auchmithie, about four miles north of Arbroath, and at 7.33 the life-boat Robert Lindsay was launched. The weather was fine, with a calm sea.
Using her searchlight, the life-boat found the two girls. With them were five men who had tried to get them ashore. The life-boat took them all on board and landed them at her station at 9.15.—Rewards, £10 16s..
