Carpo
Falmouth, Cornwall.—At 8.15 in the morning of the 13th of September, 1951, the St. Anthony coastguard telephoned that a ship seemed to be in difficulties off Swanpool beach in Falmouth Bay, and at 9.0 the life-boat Crawford and Constance Conybeare was launched. The sea was rough, with a southerly gale blowing. The life-boat found the motor vessel Carpo, of Rotterdam, anchored, with her engines broken down, but the anchors were dragging. She repaired her engines.
The life-boat's second coxswain then boarded her and piloted her to Falmouth harbour. The life-boat reached her station again at 11.0.—- Rewards, £5 14s..
