Happy Returns
Eastbourne, Sussex.—At 6.0 on the night of the 3rd of December, 1950, flares were reported about one mile off shore in Pevensey Bay. At 6.15 the life-boat Beryl Tollemache was launched in a moderate sea with a moderatenorth-westerly breeze and snow squalls.
She found the fishing vessel Happy Returns, of Newhaven, with a party of six anglers. Her engine had broken down. The life-boat towed her to shore and reached her station again at 7.5.
