Daffrobani

The Mumbles, Glamorganshire.— At 11.56 on the morning of Sunday, the 1st of October, 1950, the life-boatWilliam Gammon, Manchester and Dis- trict XXX was at sea for adjustments to her wireless equipment when the coastguard announced that a yacht in Port Eynon Bay was heading towards Oxwich Point and flying distress signals.

The sea was moderate and a south- westerly breeze was blowing. The life- boat found the auxiliary yacht Daffro- bani two and a half miles south-west of Oxwich Point. She had been damaged in a squall and her engine had broken down. A life-boatman was put on board to help her crew of two and, with the life-boat in attendance, the yacht proceeded under sail to an anchorage in Swansea Bay, arriving at two o'clock.—Rewards, £12 6s..
