Porthdinllaen, Caernarvonshire.—At 11.47 in the morning, on the 18th of July, 1950, the coastguard reported that a sailing dinghy had capsized one and a quarter miles off Nevin Point.

Thirteen minutes later the life-boat Charles Henry Ashley was launched in a fresh west-south-westerly breeze with a smooth sea. When she arrived, she found that the motor boat Lotus had already picked up the crew of two men and was landing them. The life-boat therefore took the dinghy—the Sark— in tow and returned to her station, arriving at 1.35. A letter was received from Lloyd's Agent at Porthdinllaen commending the life-boat crew on their prompt turn-out.—Rewards, £6 14*..
