Corinne

Yarmouth, Isle of Wight.—At 10.45 on the night of the 21st of July, 1950, the Ventnor coastguard passed on a message from the steamer Stability that the yacht Corinne, of Glasgow, was dis- abled and in need of help. Half an hour later the life-boat Langham, on temporary service at the station, was launched in a moderate westerly wind and smooth sea. She came up with the yacht at 5.30 next morning about eight miles south-east from St. Cather- ine's Point. Pending the arrival of the life-boat, a vessel had been standingby her as she was dismasted with wires foul of the propeller. At the request of the Corinne's owner, the life-boat took the yacht in tow and brought her, and her crew of four, into Yarmouth harbour at ten o'clock.—Rewards, £20 1*. 6d..
