Canoes
Ramsgate, Kent. — At 7.25 on the evening of the 30th of July, 1950, the coastguard reported a message from the East Goodwin Lightvessel. Two exhausted canoeists were aboard, and they wanted the life-boat to land them.
Accordingly sixteen minutes later the Prudential life-boat left her moorings in a slight sea with a light south-south- westerly breeze blowing. She found two men and their canoe on the light- vescel. They had sought refuge there while trying to get from Dover to France. The life-boat landed both men and canoe at 11.7.—Rewards, £11 Is..
