Amulet

Salcombe, Devon.—At 8.45 in the evening on the 3rd of August, 1950, a report from Dartmouth announced a small yacht in difficulties six miles south-south-west of Prawle Point.

There was an injured man aboard! Fifteen minutes later the life-boat Milburn, on temporary duty at the station, was launched in a smooth sea with a moderate south-westerly breeze.

She found the yacht Amulet, of Fal- mouth, with a crew of five "Conway" cadets. She had engine trouble. The life-boat took the yacht in tow and arranged by radio for a doctor and an ambulance to be ready on her arrival at Salcombe, which they' reached at 12.15. The owner made a donation to the funds of the Institution.—• Rewards, £8 19*..
