Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire.—-At half past six on the night of the 7th of De- cember, 1949, it was learned that the local fishing boat Promise, was overdue.

The relatives of the crew of three were anxious for their safety. Accordingly, the life-boat John and Charles Kennedy was launched at 7.12 in a strong westerly breeze with a moderate swell.
