Margate Life-Boatman's Death
IN the early hours of Sunday, the 6th of November, 1949 (see page 402) the Margate life-boat was called out on service and one of the crew, Benjamin Frost, cycled down to the boathouse at the end of the pier. As soon as he got into the boat he had a heart attack.
He was lifted out, and was found to be already dead. He was only forty-one years old. He was unmarried, and the only relative dependent upon him was his mother. His father had died at sea. His mother is a patient in a hos- pital, blind, bed-ridden, and needing constant care. She is looked after under the National Health Scheme, but her son spent IS/— a week in comforts for her. This allowance of 15/- will now be provided by the Institution..
