Fishing Boats (1)

Gourdon, Kincardineshire.—-About noon on the 9th of November, 1949, a strong south-easterly gale arose, and conditions at the harbour entrance became so bad that the danger signal was hoisted. All the fishing boats were at sea, so the life-boat Margaret Damson was launched at 1.5 in case help were needed. Several of the fishing boats ran for Stonehaven, but three made Gourdon Harbour, with the life-boat standing by. The life-boat reached her station again at 2.5.—-Rewards, £27 Os. 6d.
