Howth, Co. Dublin.—At 7.15 in the evening of the 26th of June, 1949, a report was received through the aCivic Guard that a man had fallen over the cliffs between Redrock and Drumleek to the south of Howth. It was impos- sible to reach him from the shore so the life-boat Duke of Connaught, on tem- porary duty at the station, was launched at 7.40, taking a small boat with her.
A light southerly wind was blowing, with a moderate swell. Three of the crew rowed ashore in the small boat, found the man, very badly hurt, and, with considerable difficulty, put him on board the life-boat. She reached her station again at ten o'clock and the man was sent by ambulance to hospital.—Rewards, £8 9s..
