Galway Bay. — At ten o'clock in the morning of the 12th of July, 1949, the local doctor asked for the help of the life-boat to take an urgent surgical case to Costello, Connemara, and the life-boat K.E.C.F. was launched at eleven o'clock. The sea was calm and there was no wind, but a dense fog.

The life-boat landed the patient at Costello and returned to her station, arriving at three o'clock that after- noon. It was learnt later that, by her help, the man's life had been saved.— Rewards, £7 7s..
