Fram

Ramsgate, Kent.—At 12.45 in the afternoon of the 3rd of July, 1949, information was telephoned from the East Pier that a yacht had grounded on the Middle Brake Sands, and the life-boat Prudential was launched at 1.19 in a light east-north-east breeze with a moderate sea. Before the life- boat reached the yacht she saw her come off the sands and go on her way under sail. She had already noticed a small motor boat, the Fram, belonging to Ramsgate, in difficulties in Pegwefl Bay. The boat had a party of anglers on board, and her engine had broken down. The life-boat towed her home, arriving at 2.12.—Rewards, £7 7s. 6d..
