Aurora
Campbeltown, Argyllshire.—At 10.34 in the morning of the 7th of April, 1949, the Kildonan coastguard tele- phoned that a fishing boat was ashore on the west side of Pladda Island, and at 10.47 the life-boat City of Glasgow was launched. A north-north-west gale was blowing, with a heavy sea.
The life-boat found the motor fishing vessel Aurora, of Ballantrae, lying on her side pounded by the seas, but her crew of three had. got ashore. They asked the life-boat to take them to Ayr, and this she did, reaching her station again at 9.50 that night.—Rewards, £24 3s. 6d..
