Santa Cruz

Arklow, Co. Wicklow. — At nine o'clock on the night of the 9th of De- cember, 1948, it was reported that a fishing boat was burning flares to the north-east, and the motor life-boat Inbhear Mor was launched at 9.10 in a southerly "breeze. The sea was rough.

The life-boat found the local motor boat Santa Cruz five miles to the north-east, with the life-boat's bowman, his father and three others on board. Her nets had fouled her propeller and she was drifting. The life-boat towed her in, arriving back at her station at a quarter past eleven.—Rewards, £11 4s. 6d..
