Frem
Filey, Yorkshire.—At 8 o'clock in the morning of the 9th of February, 1949, the coastguard telephoned that a vessel had anchored off Humanby Gap. As the weather got worse her position became dangerous, and at 9.54 the life- boat The Cuttle was launched. A fresh south-easterly gale was then blowing, with a heavy sea and rain. The life- boat found the motor vessel Frem, of Holland, bound 'for Rotterdam. She had broken down. Her master asked the life-boat to stand by, and this she did, remaining until the weather im- E roved and the Frem got under way.
