Shoreham Harbour, Sussex.—At 1.55 in the af ternoon of the 29th of January, 1949, the police reported an aet-opttie down in the sea about a mile off shore between Lancing and Shoreham, and the life-boat Rosa Woodd and Phyllis Lunn was launched nine min- utes later. There was a light variable breeze and the sea was smooth. The life-boat found the remains of a Miles training aircraft one mile south of Lancing, and among the wreckage the bodies of two men.
