Flanders
Donaghadee, Co. Down.—At 1.20 in the morning of the 18th of Saptember, 1948, the Bangor coastguard telephoned that a trawler had wirelessed that she had picked up two men, who had been adrift in a motor boat, and asked for the life-boat to land them. The motor life-boat Civil Service No. 5 was launched at 1.35, in a strong westerly breeze with a choppy sea, found the trawler Flanders two miles off-shore, and brought in the two men and their boat, arriving at her station at 3 o'clock.
