The Sailing Boat Venture

Skegness, Lincolnshire. — During the evening of the 8th of June, 1948, the coxswain had under. observation the local sailing boat Venture, which had put out with three men and a boy. The breeze from the north-north-west was light, and the sea slight, but he saw that the boat was in difficulties with the tide, and at 9.55 the motor life-boat Anne Allen was launched. She found the sailing boat one and a half miles north-east of the pier, towed her to the shore and arrived back at her station at 10.55.—Rewards, £9 14*..
