The Dinghies Kingfisher and Aeblus

Torbay, Devon. — On the 21st of August, 1948, the Brixham Torbay Royal Regatta races were being held.

A strong south-south-west wind was blowing, with a moderate sea, and about half past eleven in the morning two redwing-class dinghies capsized.

The motor life-boat George Shee was launched at 11.45. She found the dinghies Kingfisher and Aeblus, but no men, towed them to Brixham, arriving at 1.30, and there learned that the crews had been rescued by other dinghies.—Rewards, £4 lls..
