St. Monance

Yarmouth, Isle of Wight.—At 9.15 in the evening of the 6th of June, 1948, the police reported that a yacht was drag- ging her moorings in a dangerous posi- tion at the mouth of Lymington river, with one man on board, and the motor life-boat S.G.E. was launched at 9.55, in a fresh south-westerly gale with a very rough sea. She found the motor yacht St. Monance, of London, at the first buoy in the river, took off the man and returned to her station, arriving at 11.10.—Rewards, £5 13*..
