Mr. William Liggins, of Coventry

MR. WILLIAM LIGGINS, of Coventry, who died on the 29th of June, at the age of 97, was for over a third of his very long life associated with the Life-boat Service. He was honorary secretary of the Coventry branch from 1915 until 1933, and also its chairman from 1928 to 1934. In 1935 he became a vice-president and held that office until his death. Mr. Liggins received all the awards which the Institution can make to an honorary worker. The life-boat picture was presented to him in 1925 and the gold badge, with the record of thanks, in 1929. In 1936 he was appointed an honorary life-governor of the Institution, the highest honour which the Institution can bestow on an honorary worker..
