Minnie, Silver Line and Star of Hope

Runs wick, Yorkshire.—At 6.30 in the morning of the 27th of August, 1948, the Staithes fishing boats Minnie, Silver Line and Star of Hope went to the fishing grounds. The wind was light, from the north-west, but the sea was rough and increasing, and by 8.45 it was too rough for the boats to land at Staithes, so the Runswick motor life-boat Robert Patton—The Always Ready was launched at 9.5.

She found the boats north of Staithes at 9.30 and escorted them to Runswick Bay where a safe landing was made.— Rewards, £13 145. 6d..
