Dinah

Weymouth, Dorset.—At 11.10 on the night of the 26th of July, 1948, the Wyke Regis coastguard telephoned that a vessel was signalling for help with a torch one mile to the south-south-east, and the motor life-boat William and Clara Ryland was launched at 11.25 in fine weather with a calm sea. She found the motor yacht Dinah with a crew of four. Her engine had broken down, but had been started again.

The yacht made for the harbour es- corted by the life-boat, which, later, took her in tow and reached her station again at one o'clock the next morning.
