Dimcyl

Lowestoft, Suffolk.—About three in, the afternoon of the 21st of July, 1948, the coastguard telephoned that an auxiliary sailing yacht, one and a half miles to the eastward, was flying a distress signal, and the motor life-boat Mary Scott, on temporary duty at the station, was launched at once. A strong southerly breeze was blowing, with a rough sea, and the tide was ebbing. The life-boat found the Dim- cyl, with a crew of four on board, broken down and drifting. She towed her into harbour, arriving at half past four.
