Alisdair
The Humber, Yorkshire. — At about 7.45 on the morning of the 13th of June, 1948, the coastguard reported a vessel aground two and a half miles north-north-west of Donna Nook, and the motor life-boat Milburn, on tem- porary duty at the station, was launched at 8.30, in a fresh northerly breeze with a moderate sea. She found the cabin cruiser Alisdair—on her -way to Grimsby for engine repairs—well ashore. The life-boat passed tow ropes to her to prevent her being carried further in by the flood tide and, when the water was deep enough, pulled her afloat. After recovering the cruiser's anchor and cable, which had been slipped during the operations, the life-boat returned to her station, arriving at noon.--— Property Salvage Case..
