The S.S. Albion Star

The Mumbles, Glamorganshire.—On the 23rd of April. 1948, the s.s. Albion Star, of London, was anchored off shore.

Her crew had run out of food, while taking the steamer to a yard to be broken up. A south-westerly breeze was blowing with a moderate sea. The owners of the steamer asked if the life- boat could take out supplies to her, and at noon the motor life-boat William Gammon — Manchester and District XXX, was launched. She put the food on board the steamer and arrived back at her station at 1.30 in the after- noon.—Rewards, £2 5s., which were paid by the owners..
