Esperanza

Ramsgate, Kent.—On the morning of the 21st of May, 1948, a fresh north- easterly breeze was blowing, with a heavy sea. At 10.30 the sailing yacht Esperanza, with a crew of two, went to sea. The weather got worse, and as the yacht attempted to enter the har- bour she hit the west pier and carried away her fore-stay, bowsprit and lee- board. The motor life-boat Prudential put out at 11.35, and towed the Esper- anza into harbour. She arrived back at her station at noon.—Rewards, £6 12s. 6d..
