SICK MAN LANDED Margate, Kent.—At 8.57 on the night of the 6th of January, 1948, the motor life-boat Lord Southborough—Civil Service No. 1, was launched in a strong south-south-west breeze with a rough sea to search for an aeroplane reported in the sea ten miles to the north-north- east. The life-boat found no trace of her, but on her way back she was sig- nalled by the motor vessel Fluidity, which had a sick man on board. The life-boat brought him and the Fluidity's skipper ashore, arriving back at her station at 3.30 the following morning.—- Rewards, £39 Is. 6d..
