The S.S. Radstock

STEAMER TOWED IN St. Mary'*, Scilly Islands.—At about 10.40 on the night of the 4th of October, 1947, the Round Island Lighthouse wirelessed that a vessel was firing dis- tress signals about two miles north of the island, and the motor life-boat Cunard was launched at 11 o'clock.

A moderate south-easterly breeze was blowing, with a moderate sea. The life-boat found the S.S. Radstock, of Bridgwater—a vessel of one hundred tons, with a crew of seven—out of control with a broken cylinder head, and towed her in, arriving back at her station at 2.15 the following morning.— Property Salvage Case..
