Polstjarnan

SWEDISH YACHT IN PERIL Hasting*, Sussex.—On the 22nd of October, 1947, the Swedish yacht Polstjarnan was alongside the pier with her engine broken down. At 9.15 in the morning the coastguard reported that she was bumping badly against the pier. An increasing south-westerly breeze was blowing, with a moderate sea, and a gale was expected, so the motor life-boat Cyril and Lilian Bishop was launched at 10 o'clock and towed the yacht to Rye Harbour, returning to her station at 4.10 in the afternoon.
