The S.S. Agia Varvara
ANOTHER GREEK STEAMER HELPED Ramsgate, Kent.—At about 7.0 in the evening of the 10th of March, 1947, the coastguard reported that a ship was aground one and a half miles south-west of North Goodwin Light- vessel. A light south-easterly breeze was blowing and the sea was moderate.
The motor life-boat Prudential was launched at 7.15 and found the S.S.
Agia Varvara, of Piraeus, of 4,300 tons, bound for Italy with coal. She stood by her until 12.30 next morning when she refloated, and went on her way.
