Campbeltown, Argyllshire. •—• On the 7th of March, 1947, when the roads were blocked with snow, the president of the District Nursing Association, in consultation with a doctor, asked the life-boat to take a doctor and nurse to Southend to attend a maternity case.

A light east-north-east breeze was blow- ing and the sea was moderate. The motor life-boat City of Glasgow left her moorings at 7.45 that evening, with doctor and nurse on board. After they had attended to the patient at South- end the life-boat brought them back to Campbeltown arriving at 3.20 on the morning of the 8th.—Rewards, £19 6*. 6d., which were paid by the Argyll County Council..
