MOTOR CRUISER ON THE GOODWINS Ramsgate, Kent.—At 5.48 in the morn- ing of the 29th of June, 1947, the coastguard reported a small vessel aground on the Goodwin Sands about three miles west by north of the East Goodwin Light-vessel and the motor life-boat Prudential was launched at 6.5 in a light westerly breeze and slight sea. She found the motor cruiser Amice, with three on board, bound for Shoreham. Her engine had broken down and she had grounded, but had refloated on the rising tide and was now drifting over the sands. The life- boat towed her to East Gully and after mooring her there she returned to her station, arriving at 8.15.—Rewards, £9 18*..
