The Admiralty Trawler Cape Barracouta

Ramsgate, Kent.—On the 7th October, 1939, two vessels were seen to be ashore on Goodwin Sands. One of them was the Admiralty trawler Cape Barracouta. A light E.N.E. wind was blowing, with a moderate sea. At 11.45A.M. the motor life-boat Prudential was launched. As it was difficult for tugs to approach the Cape Barracouta owing to the shallow water, the life-boat carried hawsers and lines to her and enabled her to refloat without damage.

The life-boat returned to her station, arriving at 8.24 P.M.—Rewards, £23 5s. 6d..
