Howth, Co. Dublin.—12th August, 1939. The civic guard had reported that a man was in the sea and was urgently in need of help. The life-boat put out with Mr. H. McCracken. a member of the committee, on board, and in the absence of the officers of the life-boat Patrick O'Connor, a member of the crew, took charge. The life-boat however was recalled as the man had been picked up by another boat.— Rewards, £1 15*..
