Fishing Boats (3)

Peterhead, Aberdeenshire. — On the morning of the 24th March, 1939, a heavy sea was rising, with a strong and increasing south-easterly wind. Two small fishing boats were out and shortly before noon it was reported that one of them was showing a distress signal.

The motor life-boat Duke of Connaught was launched at 12.5 P.M., and escorted both boats to harbour, returning to her station at 1.15 P.M.—Rewards, £6 17s. 6d..
