A Yacht and Two Barges

Southend-on-Sea, Essex.—On the 2nd June, 1938, the motor life-boat, as reported on page 551 of The Life-boat for October, rescued seven people from a yacht and two barges, and the thanks of the Institution inscribed on vellum was awarded to the coxswain. The award has now been increased to the bronze medal for gallantry, accompanied by a copy of the vote inscribed on vellum.

(A full account of the services and details of the rewards is given on page 581 of The Life-boat; see December, 1938.).
