Valkyrie II
Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire.—At 12.15 P.M. on the 17th August, 1938, the coastguard reported that a fishing boat was flying a signal about one and a half miles N.W. from Kinnaird Head.
A strong north-westerly breeze was blowing, with a heavy sea. The motor life-boat John and Charles Kennedy was launched at 12.22 P.M., and found the motor fishing vessel Valkyrie II, of Fraserburgh, carrying a crew of eight, homeward bound from the fishing grounds. She was then about 500 yards from the inner end of the breakwater at Kinnaird Head. She had lost her rudder and was drifting fast towards the shore. A rope was got aboard her and the life-boat towed her into harbour, arriving at 1.10 P.M.—• Property Salvage Case..
