Fagerheim

Cullercoats, Northumberland.—During foggy weather on the morning of the llth August, 1938, the Norwegian steamer Fagerheim, of Tons berg, ran ashore, in a smooth sea, south of Briardene. Information was given by the coastguard, and at 10.40 A.M. the motor life-boat Richard Silver Oliver was launched. The life-boat found the ship's boat trying to lay out a kedge anchor, but the weight of the anchor was too much and the attempt had to be given up. The life-boat stood by, and later the Fagerheim got off under her own steam. After a run to test her engines, which had been overhauled recently, the life-boat returned to her station at 1.5 P.M.—Rewards, £5 10*. 6d..
