Troon, Ayrshire.—At 10 P.M. on the 19th February, 1938, the harbour look-out reported that a fishing boat had not returned as expected. Later a mast-light was seen, and as it was stationary, the motor life-boat Sir David Richmond of Glasgow was launched at 11 P.M., to see if her help was wanted. An E.N.E. breeze was blowing, with a moderate sea. Shefound the boat, the Provider, of Portavogie, about four miles W.N.W. of Ayr Harbour. Her engine had broken down. The life-boat towed her back to Troon, and returned to her station at 1.15 A.M. on the. 20th.—Rewards, £9 16*. 6d,.
