Galway Bay, Co. Gal way.—On the 3rd March, 1938, the honorary secretary, the Rev. Father Killeen, was weatherbound on the island of Inishmaan, and as his presence was essential at Kilronan, he sent a wireless message for the motor life-boat William Evans. A S.W. gale was blowing, with a very rough sea, and no other available boat could make the trip. The life-boat was launched at 1.40 P.M. and returned with the honorary secretary on boardat 3.10 P.M.—The Institution did not make rewards for this service..
