Day Dawn, of Peterhead

Peterhead, Aberdeenshire.—At 9.50 A.M.

on Tuesday, the 26th October, 1937, a man reported that the motor fishing boat Day Dawn, of Peterhead, was near the rocks at South Head with her engine broken down, and that she was signalling for help. A strong S.

breeze was blowing, with a heavy sea.

The motor life-boat Duke of Connaught was launched at 9.55 A.M., and found that the Day Dawnhsul dropped anchor> but was dragging towards the rocks.

Just before the life-boat arrived her engine was restarted, and with the life-boat escorting her, she got into thenorth harbour. The life-boat returned to her station at 11 A.M.—Rewards, £8 Os. 6d..
