Corn Rig

Caister, Norfolk.—At 6.13 A.M. on the 25th November, 1937, the watchman reported that a vessel was blowingcontinuously on her siren. A light west breeze was blowing, with a slight sea, and the weather was foggy. The pulling and sailing life-boat Charles Burton was launched at 6.35 A.M., and found the steam drifter Corn Rig, of Buckie, aground on the Caister Shoal.

The Corn Rig carried a crew of ten, and was bound for Yarmouth from the fishing grounds. The life-boat ran out an anchor for her, and then stood by until she refloated on the rising tide.

The life-boat returned to her station at 10.30 A.M.-—Property Salvage Case..
